Looks like we need to start measuring.

torque specs @ 6v. i think i'm going with either the Futaba or Spektrum lg servo. the KO looks like a nice option, but a bit pricey.

Futaba S9650 - 63 oz torque ($60) / 0.93oz
JR Z9650 - 51 oz torque ($90) / 1.04oz
KO 951 - 108 oz torque ($120) / 0.95oz

JR Z8800s - 105 oz torque (discontinued - have a bunch) / 2.0oz
Spektrum S6040 - 167 oz torque ($80) / 1.8oz

(also - i'm purposely excluding the Spektrum H5000 -- i have them, and they've had centering problems)

Futaba 9650 is an awesome servo i run them in all my pan cars. Great flat mounting feature, no servo post required.

Default Manutech Bumper

Priceless.

Chris over at Manutech has created a Kydex Bumper for the Rebel 10. I've tested it and it works great. He said they will be up on his website soon, otherwise in the meantime you can email him directly. A-Main Hobbies stocks his stuff as well, but I would assume it will be a while untill they stock this particualr item.

Nice having him as a local racer!

Had a good time with the car this afternoon... Abosolutly no complaints on its handling. Whatever issues there were, they were from my driving. Going to messs with the battery layout a bit. I had it all the back (from left to right). Will place it in the middle (front to back) and see what happens. I had a acouple of problemd with a few of the screws. Som eof them ended up stripping out. Not a big deal, was able to replace them. This is my first 1/10th scale pan car and really see myself enjoying it a lot. Took all the electronics out of the 1/12th scale for this one. I think I'm just tapping into its performance and enjoying every minute of it.....

Runnig a Futaba s9650 servo... no problems. Using spx12 (corally) servo mounts.

Your car was pretty smooth today, Phil. May have to join the ranks and pick one up myself.

My Rebel 10 hit the track yesterday after being quickly built. This is the first WGT car I didn't hate to drive. It wasn't doing anything stupid on the track. The rear wheel wasn't hiking up, the car wasn't diffing out in tight corners, it had amazing steering/corner speed and it handled the chicanes like a 1/12th scale.

I initially only got another WGT to act as a carpet track zamboni to build grip .. but now I'm honestly considering racing this car.

One note -- we were all shocked as to how much of a difference the change of caster shims made to this car. I initially started the day w/ nearly all of the caster removed from the car. In the second round I flipped the shims around and in doing so made the car nearly undrivable in both high and low speed corners so much that during the heat I had to have Larry undo the caster change.

Once I drag my equipment back into the man cave I'll post up a picture or two of the car as setup. The only non-kit parts included:

- lunsford camber links
- lunsford steering links
- kyosho 15k grease in the tubes
- losi 40wt shock oil
- 86t kimbrough 64p spur
- shoe goo and top tape for the servo
- one extra 0.020 rear axle shim on the diff side (should probably re-check the need for this shim now that I have tires on the car)

I also swapped the majority of the 2.5mm and 3mm screws using stainless screws from mcmaster carr. You just need to be careful with the TOP steel screw heads as they are a little soft. Using a new 1.5mm and 2.0mm driver tip is ALWAYS a good recommendation.

Pro 10 is gone but I really want to race WGT since I've seen the Rebel10

And although I wouldn't want spec tires in 12th it's kinda cool to have spec tires in WGT. Talk about a variable I don't have to deal with

What's the favorite body and their handling characteristics?

Thanks

p.s My instincts are to race TC but WGT sounds way cooler dude

I'd say 99% Protoform Sophia, 1% Parma DB9

Parma seems more 70's looking and the proto seems more 80's

Did I see Larry Fairtrace as R1 TQ in WGT at snowbirds?
