Cool Online store recommendations?

Hi there,

I haven't been practicing this hobby for 5 years now and I want to revamp my TRF415MSX. By revamp I mean new batteries, charger/discharger because as far I've read, lipo batteries are the standard now and my old chargers don't charge lipo.

So can you guys recommend online stores to buy this stuff from?

www.speedtechrc.com
sponsor on this forum, with their own forum section, they are THE tamiya experts, they should have some left over 415 parts laying around too.
I get all my tamiya stuffs from them.

I also agree on Speedtech but after reading you will need lipos and a charger, check out www.hobbypartz.com for some great deals on the Gens Ace batteries and Thunder chargers. You can get a 5000mah 40C 2S lipo for around $30, and the Thunder chargers are around $45-60.

Buy your lipos from Hobbyking. Get a charger from LHS.

Like you I've recently got back into RC after a long break. I bought a Lipo battery from SPCracing .com and a Thunder AC6 charger from Hobbypartz.

Hobbyking.com I use their lipo's in my cars and boats. Also I like the Imax chargers. They have a warehouse in the US.

Really awesome.

I know HK batts get good praise on here, but personal experience for me has them at a 50% failure rate. A 5000 40c 2s was DOA, didnt bother sending it back for the price, and a 4000 40c 2s lasted about 5 cycles. I'm using Gens Ace now from hobbypartz. shipping took ages tho. The gens batts take 4mm bullets (sockets in the batts) making them easy to tape in and fit, but also provide the bullets to deans with the balance adapter in the box. I paid $37 each for them. My HK charger is doing well though.

I have been using the Hobby people 5000 35c 2S. I have been very happy with these batteries. You can pick them up when hobby people has a sale for $40.

Speedtech for my on-road
Amain for my off-road
Stormer is good too, some of their prices are the cheapest.

What I look in an online shop is how well they keep inventory, how fast they ship things out accurately, and how good their CS is. Those three stores have not failed me yet

oh, and no BS S/H fees.

halayli - I'm sure that our happy and vocal customers (thank you, everyone!) could give several reasons why they enjoy shopping with A Main Hobbies, but we'd like to think that #1 on the list is that we're constantly striving to create the best customer experience in the RC industry, and here's how:

- Huge selection of the name brand products you want. When we say its in stock, it's physically in our warehouse and ready to ship.
- Fast, affordable shipping options. We offer free Super Saver shipping on all orders containing $100 of eligible products (noted on each product page), discounts on faster shipping methods, and fast order processing; most of our orders ship within 1-2 days and many on the same day.
- Real customer service when you need it, either by phone, e-mail, or live chat. Have a question about a product? We'll answer it. Not sure what to buy? Let us help. Want to check the status of our order? Give us a ring. Got a product that was defective out of the box? We'll replace it. UPS guys dropkick the box on its way to your door and broke something? Let us take care of it.

Here's our listing of 2S LiPo packs:

And here's our lineup of chargers:

as for batteries and a charger of course there are a lot of places u can go but if your serious about onroad racing speedtechrc hasn't failed me yet. it really depends on how nice you want your stuff to be.

jeff and albert at speedtechrc was telling me about this orion charger they have on sale but im pretty happy with my thunder power 610c so i didn't jump on it.

unfortunately amain can't help you much when it comes to tamiya and as for onroad they aren't as strong. actually with the trf 415 there isn't much available nowadays due to the fact that car is super old with 3 generations of the trf416 and the current trf417 out.
