Default Orion V2 Stock Adaption kit

Is this the beginning of the stock V2's? Has anyone tried using the V2 endbell with any stock motors? Any recommendations?

Default It's cool but...

don't ever expect it to become ROAR legal. They are not going to support it since it will drive the effective cost of a stock motor to the $70 range. That's $15 more than a mod with the same endbell

So have fun playing with it, but don't expect to be able to race it anytime soon at a ROAR race or at a ROAR affiliated track.

IMO, it would be great to see it pass ROAR as a std endbell for an Orion stock motor. From what I hear the brush life is much better...

Agreed, it would be cool if they'd allow Orion/Peak to sell comeplete stocks that way as legal motors(& something like that might spur their competitors to do something similar). And for the record, while I haven't run one in a car, I did test one on my Robitronics dyno recently(I believe it was the conversion kit on a Monster), & while it didn't exactly rock my world, it didn't look too bad either(lost a bit of rpm over what I consider normal for Monsters, but torque was ok & power was about the average I see), & if it can do 20 runs or more & stay that way before needing to be rebuilt, I'd say it's money well spent.....

Supposedly Orion is working on a new stock motor. Dunno if it's going to use this endbell or the one they did for their Formula Pro motor. The one for the Formula Pro looks like a standard endbell, except it has the angled brushes retrofitted on it. Either way, I think there's a good chance this will be coming to stock racing.

Just take your standard brush and dremmel/file the square face into a triangle or diamond shape....you'll get the same effect. But it will be more linear because of the straight lines of a diamond shape over a round shape.

That'd be the one. Not as swanky lookin' as the other, but it looks like it will get the job done.

Looks a bit cheezy compared to the real thing. I'd save a few more bucks and go for the real stuff.

Hey gang, just wanted to let you know that we got in some of the conversion kits for the stock motors. Plus we got in some of the new Edge Sprint Brushes from Team Orion.

The V2 brushes work the best when they are fully broke in and seated properly. Sometimes it can take 2 or 3 runs to break them in.

The whole idea behind the stock endbell conversion is longer life without sacrificing power.

Here is a better picture of the SV2 (sport V2) endbell.
