Default How many tires?

I was just curious to see how many sets of tires people go through per month with their electric onroad setups. I just got into onroad last month, and I seem to go through more sets of tires with onroad than I did with offroad. It seems like this type of rc racing is more expensive overall, with tire compounds, and new tires every month.
Anyways...lets take a count of how many times you go to the track and how many sets of tires you go through in one month!

New tires every month? Try new tires every 5 runs.

Yeah. Tires will last quite a while but they are fastest for the first few heat cycles. Then they seem to stabilize for a while.

Agree. One set of new tires for qualifying and another set for the finals on big races. But for club races, we normally run it for 3 races ( 18 runs) for EP stock class and about 2 races (12 runs) for EP modified. and after this, we use the tires for practice. We run Sorex 40R all the way on concrete high traction track.

Do what full size race teams do..... Keep them from heatcycling... Tire warmers, don't let them cool....

So long as you don't chunk tires, foams will last longer... That is if you don't true them do to 58mm to start with....

I have several sets (4-6 sets) of Sorex 36Rs I run in EP Stock, I cycle through them. I won my class a few weeks ago and when I checked the dates on the tires it said 08/03!!!

I've got my pro4 setup where the tire will seperate from the rim, before it is too worn out. P.s. I'm running Modified and 19turn. This is after about 21 runs.

With foams I usually get about four race days out of them, about 30 runs.

DEpending on how rough the track is and how they are wearing. In parking lots, the tires wear out faster. Also, I make the tires last longer if the race is less important. On average, about 5 runs.
