Talking help, we need carpet!

Hey guys, I wasn't sure if I should post this in the on road thread. But it does make some sense because we are in need of some Ozite or another light weight carpet.

We have a small club that gets together every wednesday to race indoors. Our previous location shut down so we are going to be racing in a school gym this fall, winter and spring. The problem is, we need to put carpet down each time we race. So we are looking for some Ozite or another light weight carpet. We need enough to form a 24' x 30' area. Our club doesn't have much money but we are willing to pay for it.

Please let me know if you can help or know anyone that might be able to help us.

Thank you!!!
Ben

I think the problem you are going to have is getting the carpet smooth. We just installed the Dupont stuff on our indoor and it had to be glued and stratched just like any other carpet.

Thanks for the tips, guys!

We race solid axle monster trucks on it, so we don't need sedan and 12th scale quality smoothness. We just need a decent surface to race on so we don't damage the gym floor. And it has to be light enough so it isn't too much of a pain to haul back and forth each week.

Thanks again!
Ben

What about trying one of the big carpet outlets. Maybe they will have whats called remnants. Carpet left over from previous purchases. Maybe you could get some cheap. And if it is just for monster trucks you could find just about any carpet to work.

See ya,
Rod

Right, but the typical remnant stuff is "heavy". We are looking for something that is lighter weight and easier to haul around. We do have some carpet already, but it is a pain to work with as it has a very heavy backing.

TeamPrp,

Send Nick_Malinoski a private message. He is part of a club that is looking to get rid of roughly a 50x70 piece of ozite.

i'm in the same club as Nick_Malinoski.. where are you located in relation to NJ? i hear shipping is going to be a nice chunk of change.. basically, if no one takes this carpet, its gonna get tossed...
