Default TC5R problem

I bought this car used from a guy that use to use it as a drift car and i'm using it for onroad tc racing. My problem is everytime my car is going down the straight away and i go on the brakes, it is doing a full 180 degrees. Can someone tell me whats wrong and how i could fix this problem? If this is any help. i race in a car park and the traction is very low.

What setup do you use? Did you check the car after you bought it?
With more information it is easier to analyze the problem, because there are a few things that can cause you spinning.

That sounds like a oneway is in the front, or you front diff is way to loss.

I argee with what's said above. And I suggest you do a compete breakdown of the car, and make sure everything is there. Use the manual to help identify parts, then go back to the factory car setup.

Also, the front may be sprung so soft that all the weight is transfering to the front. Having the rear droop set wrong will do the same thing.

Too many variables to go through until you list your entire set up! Having raced TC5s in two classes last year, I recommend going back to the kit set up (you can download the manual from AE's web page if you don't have it) and adjust from there.

Strip down the car and start from scratch.

Rebuild the shocks. Try 40wt. in the front, with blue springs and 30wt. in the rear with green springs.

Set your ride heights at 6mm in the front and 5mm in the rear.

Check the caster and camber setting all around the chassis.

After you rebuild the car, check the weight balance, front to back and side to side. Most guys had to add a ton of weights to balance their cars.

These worked for me, but check through the tc5 thread and you will find plenty of info that should help.

I have another question though. How do i find the 50/50 weight distribution around the car? What do i use or how do i know it has that kind of distribution?

Ask around and find another racer that has a set of scales, 2 is good, 4 is better. Use the scales to check the balance of the chassis, front to back, and side to side, after you have all the electronics, motor and battery mounted. Weigh the car without the wheels or shocks, you are looking for a static balance of the car. Add weight, as low as possible to even out the car. After you have it close, you can put the shocks and wheels back on and tweak the weight this the shocks and springs. Hope this helps.
