well how many people out there think there cell phone works really good, in comparison to your 2.4 gig house phone.

Not sure if thats a good comparison, but what happens when you winning your main and you drop the call?
probably wont have to worry about "dropping the call" unless your driving your qualifier a few miles away from your car.

i HAVE seen the spectrum in person and watched it perform. And you know what? It did not glitch once, and we where next to a police station that has many high power transmitters, including transmitters on 2.4 ghz.

The nice thing about the nomado is the fact it will be completly changable with your home computer. It has all the Stuff from Egale tree, allready in the radio. The only this is the radio does not look good to the eye.

None of us here know where the frequency allocation is in the 2.4ghz band... Let's face the facts here, there's a ton of unused frequencies out there.... the problem with phone's, LAN's and such is they are all trying to share the same exact frequencies.... Take a loot at your wireless card setup, there's 11 frequencies, that's it.... I have 3 computers in my house all using that one frequency very happily together...
the following are the channels/freqs allowed for home networks

Channel MHz
1 2412
2 2417
3 2422
4 2427
5 2432
6 2437
7 2442
8 2447
9 2452
10 2457
11 2462
12 2467
13 2472

Most likely the spectrum module will transmit into 2500 Mhz area (2.5Ghz).
Microwave ovens should not cause harm, Because they transmit on 2450mhz. But Remeber the good old rules of the FCC Part 15.

Now if you think of the transmitter and receiver like a personal transponder, Your radio has a GUID, much like the number on your personal transponder, your receiver is set to only listen to your radio.

Now for Cordless phones, there band plan is as follows

2400Mhz-2483Mhz

After doing a little research, I have not seen any plans by the FCC to make part of this band a R/C only band like they did for part of the 75 Mhz band. I still have a few more trees to bark up to find more info. But right now it still looks as if the FCC IS NOT allocating a R/C only area.

Backordered mine Yesterday with two extra receivers. Yup it cost alot and Yup I will hear it from my wife. I should have it mid January, same as the LHS That is what the rep at Horizon was saying. The M8 one should be out right after x mas-----great way to spend some of that x-mas $$$. The Ko & Futaba should follow in mid Jan. You can order it strait from Horizon Now....You don't have to wait. I think my total was $350.92 including shipping. That includes one KO modular and three receivers....Now I have to wait till the X-Mas $$$ comes in to finish buying the rest I need. I need two more.......Well When I get mine I will post my results. The track I run at is nitorious for glitching due to power lines and metel walls. I don't usally get glitched except about once a weekend i will get glitched. Can't remember the last time I didn't have a glitch....SO I will posts results.

Any update on these? Have they fixed the response time problem they found at Cleveland? I sent an email to Spektrum about a month ago but they never replied.

From what I've been told, yes they have. Infact they knew about it before that race but the units that were there were all preproduction that haddn't been updated. I'm not too sure what they're waiting on though.

Default Serious Question...

Will the Spektrum module for the Helios work with the standard Orange Mars???

I saw someone earlier in the thread say that the Helios module will work with the Mars models. I really hope so as I don't want to buy a new radio. I love my Mars.

Someone please tell me if this is true!

Thanks,

Soviet
