GT8 Lite
With the release of the Team STRC Slash conversion and the recent interest in a GT8 light class I thought it only appropriate to start a thread for setup information, pictures, and video.

Unfortunately I converted mine before the conversion became available.

[*] My Slash is relatively stock running on 2S with a set of 17mm adapters and Sweep 50's (although it is a little warm for them here).
[*} I have Pro-line progressive shocks with about 3/8" pre-load and 80wt in both front and rear.
[8] I am running the silver sway bar in fron and black in the rear.
I look forward to seeing what everyone else is having success with.

Hi guys,
Sorry for the delay guys, but the instruction for our Slash 4x4 GT8 conversion kit is now up:
http://www.stracingconcepts.com/arch...-instructions/
The conversion kits has been shipped to our distributors so they should be available through your shop to order by the end of the week. I'm working on a few follow up articles on the spring/oil/diff oil and also some tips on how to get the Slash 4x4 to handle on track

Here's my Slash GT8 Lite. STRC made a pretty good conversion kit. It's very quick and easy setup. It sure was great to be able get my Slash 4X4 off the shelf and back into the game. Sweet!!!
I'm currently using the Kyosho Inferno GT Body Set (Nissan Z) and Kyosha Urethane Bumper that STRC recommended. I'm going to be switching to a larger front bumper so I can get a little better support for this particular lid since the front end is so long.
I've played around with a few shocks setups but it's still work in progress. Here's a few photos of my rig.

I replaced the recommended foam bumper with the Kyosho IGT Ashton Martin DBR9Shaped Bumper (#KA90001) and it provides much better support for the lid. It will also reduce the crushing of the lid in the front since the lid rest right up against the foam bumper.
The foam bumper will require a little mod done so when at full turn the front tires don't hit the foam bumper.

Thanks for the invite Mark but I'm staying local (DHW) this weekend. I keep hearing you've got some badass traction up there. Gotta check it out someday. Have a great race!!

I guess everyone is out running their GT8 Lites and that's why there are new posts.
I'm still working on my steering. Aside from that, this rig handles pretty good.

I think Jerry (RC Passion) was taking it a little easy on me but Arron (SanDiegoBrotha) was trying to kill me, unfortunately his initial move failed and he ended up in Jason's lap. LOL!!!!
I'm currently having issues with the steering, tight turns are almost impossible. It's still work in progress. Aside from that issue, it's a pretty awesome deal to be able to take a Slash 4X4 and turn into this.
I was running here 80wt oil front shocks and 70wt oil rear shocks, Blue (20% stronger than stock) traxxas shock springs front and rear, Black "thick" sway bar front and rear.
I'm now running 45wt oil front shocks and 45wt oil rear shocks, Blue (20% stronger than stock) traxxas shock springs front and Pink (10% stronger than stock) rear, Silver "think" sway bar front and Black "Thick" rear. It has gotten a little better so that's good.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Check out the video.

I believe he mentioned that he would be bringing a GT8 Lite to the next Corona race, now what it will be will probably be revealed then if not sooner. I'm curious to see what he comes up.....no matter what, it will be good I'm sure.
