With gearing of 40/16 2-4s for now use up stock wheels and tires.
The stock losi rally x body will have to work for now.
Or a sct on road setup. Asphalt racing during summer.
Awesome will be great to hear how the SCTE conversion goes.
If I were doing it I'd start with the following in this order.

1. Tires (for racing on Asphalt track) BSR Pink XX 1/8 rears BSR 30 Shore 1/8 Fronts
2. Ride height 4-7mm depending on track
3. Droop 2-3mm
4. Stiffer Springs on shocks
5. Thicker oil in shocks
6. On Road body with decent wing on it ProtoForm GT8 Body works well and is inexpensive.
7. Thicker Diff oil.... guessing I'd start at 7K (rear), 15K (center), 10k (front).

Hope that helps and please keep us updated!

Stiffer springs for sure. Go back a few posts. Someone sent me a link to a site with stiffer springs for the LOSI 1/8 clay Oval car (20 to 40 pounds if I remember correctly). I found a set of Team C hard Front springs and use them in my GT8 car and it really likes that front spring. I don't know what the rating is but it is even stiffer than the stock spring that came with the OFNA Hyper GT chassis I bought. For diff oils I have 5K F/R and 100K in the center diff. After first time racing last weekend, I might go lighter in the front and heavier in the rear. One thing I noticed with my GT8 is front tire wear on asphalt. Because of the kick up on the front of most off road chassis, there is a lot of caster, which prompts a lot of camber gain in the turns. Great for dirt, not so much so for asphalt. Instead of running the usual 1 to 2 degrees of front camber, I'm have very little (about 1/4 degree) camber now in order to get even tire wear across the front tires.

Just an update, 1st time out in competition, the car TQ'd and won the electric GT class and out qualified all but one of the nitro GT cars. I had to switch to 4s and an 1/8th scale motor from my buggy as I couldn't make run time with the SCT motor and 2s batteries.

The Hong Nor front spring is 38.75 lbs/inch, or 6.75 N/mm in metric units.

Hong Nor is the manufacturer.

Their cars are sold by different distributors mostly rebranded and renamed.

You need to look for IGT8 or X3GT.

The Revo springs go up to 36.5 lb/in.
They fit the GTR/XO-1 shocks.

Glad the parts are rolling in. Looking forward to seeing it come together.

If you are ever around Houston. Come out and check out the track.
Gulf Coast Raceway

Does anyone have any experience with a GT8 Lite and a Castle 2650KV motor for track gearing for 3S and 4S?

Thanks
I just realized that EOS will be there at the end of June. I'll try to make it out there. However, I might have to buy a new motor if you guys are running 2650KV motors on that track. A lot of guys are running that motor in Brownsville and they blow by my in the straights like I'm standing still; fortunately my car is quicker in the turns, but your track is more open and flowing so I'll lose my advantage in cornering.

Probably not going to making the EOS racing. Hope you have fun if you go

So after testing the truck yeaterday was great.

First off we have not sparyed sugar water on the track so it had a layer or dust on it.
My aka cityblocks being only tires i have at the moment, did okay for traction down the dusty straightaway. In turns they would just skid on me unless i slowed down( more than likely a mixed result from the dust and off-road rubber).

On 2s i can hit full throttle for about 5seconds before i need to work with the breaking or miss the whole first turn completely.
Max heat after about 5-8 minute runs on motor 158F esc was at 110F, warm but not surprising with the gearing im runing(40/20).

Going to try some easier to find on-road sct tires like road rages by proline see how they work. 1/8 conversion for scte/rally x is more cash then i want to spend at the moment.
