Which motor and esc does everyone recommend ? Prefer one that doesn't cost a fortune. Doesn't have to be waterproof either. 4s is probably the biggest battery to, maybe only a 3s

I'm so into these GT8 Lites! Nice to see its been going for a bit. I have a converted TRX Rally for my lite and have been considering another chassis like a DM1 or similar as a pure on road car. I don't race and just want to bash around a parking lot.

The SNR chassis looks to be a nice setup.

Depending on what you plan to do, one that I think would be a all around one is the Castle Creations 1/8th Sidewinder. Apparently it can take up to a 6s but is probably more suited as a 3s-4s system.

I'm running Mamba Monster 2's and 1512/2650kv on 4s, in both my TRX GT8 (Rally-1) and Rally-2 Builds.

Are u sure they can handle 6s , I know mamba max pro can handle it but didnt know sidewinders can . I would try to find a decent tekin system somtimes u can score a deal in the marketplace here , they are so smooth hard for me to buy another castle motor after saying I'd never switch out of them lol

Well, I can't say first hand as I don't own one, but the specs seem to indicate so.

For more than 1 years now, i am using the Hobbywing WP-SC8 esc with the eZrun 3656 4700kv motor.

Cheap, powerfull, waterproof and very tough combo.

Yeah, I had it on my short list for my Rally-2 build, but then decided to go with another MM2/2650kv. The Tekin RX8/2650kv was also considered as well, but I wanted it to be water proof. And I like the way Castles bolt right up to the Traxxas chassis like they were designed for each other.

Here is my GT8

This is the Second Rally I'm building which may become another GT8 pretty soon for the Ofna Hyper Body to be released.

Nice setup....I have my slash GT-light converted with the STRC hub conversion and I encounter the problem that if using the same body like yours (OFMA McLaren), the whole width of the car is like good 5mm narrower on each side. Are you using some optional arm or hub converter that given a wider offset..? Is that true Proline Protrac arms are the longer arms that will give a proper offset like your shown on that above picture...?

Here is mine......running 2S with 5700kv Speed Passion setup and Stock1 boost/turbo software....only thing left is make sure SNOW are done.

Thanks Solara, I am using the Protrac arms which widen the stance to fit the GT8 bodies. I'm using the longer Stampede MIP XD CV shafts and longer TWorks titanium turnbuckles to accomadate the wider track.

@ Grimm, I'm using Revo GTRs which are the same shocks as the XO-1 however I'm also using Revo springs and XO-1 shock towers on Rally-1. On Rally-2 I'm using Proline Prospec shocks.

I don't know the question is for me or for ViperZ, but anyhow....that was a Team-C big bore with the Slash 4x4 shocks, honestly, not good at all. Right now, I am actually using the OFNA DM-1 Spec front shocks all around (F and Back) on the slash....but still, I can get better...

I am actually thinking about XO-1 shocks cause it is $20 for 4....good deal. I honestly think the key of these hybrid chassis is the shock oils...it need to use electric car springs but heaviler oil for the roll.

Thanks for the info....if using the Protrac arm, do I have to upgrade the drive shaft..? The Slash shaft are those expandable type and I think sliding them out 5mm on each side outward should not be a problem.....

I do understand about the strength of the drive shaft, I will upgrade that if I have to....
