I picked up a Sonic 13.5 for my CRC WGT at the end of last year's indoor season and I have been struggling to get this thing to keep up with everyone else. My car is slow down the straight and slow in the infield. I was running an LRP 13.5 before and it was faster. Can anyone recommend a good setup? I am running the following:
- LRP SXX V2 Stock
- ThunderPower 5400 65c
- 13.5 Sonic (stock rotor)
Track size is approximately 80x50 with the average lap times around around 10 to 11 second for WGT. This is for boosted class as well. I have tried some other suggestions from this forum but still haven't found the right setup. The guys running the LRP SXX V2 with the LRP x12 motors are killing me down the straight. They are running 55mm to 58mm rollout.

What settings are you currently using?

I am currently running 0 / 8 / 9 / 4 and have tried 0 /10 / 10 / 0. Would 0 / 10 / 12 / 0 work? Timing in the motor was tested using the stock settings, and now is 35 degrees (mine is the second gen Sonic with the updated timing marks).
I read somewhere that I should be setting this ESC to blinky mode and crank the timing. Then, start adding timing and boost and gear down as needed and watch my temps. Is that a good way to start with these things? I'm fairly new to brushless so any help is appreciated. I bought a second Reedy Sonic 21.5 for my FF03 running on blinky and it runs great with the stock settings.

Torque is fine on more open layouts although the tighter layouts (12 second laps) I think would be better around 4.0FDR with higher timing. Maybe I will give it a try tonight.

First thing to know on the stock spec, stick to the even # boost profiles. The odd # ones are slow ramp, and that will make it feel very slow. I would go with 0/8/10/x on the esc, and turn the timing down on the motor to 30*. You shouldnt need a lot of motor timing in boosted, and you might find you could do with even less. You didnt mention what rollout you were at, but I would try gearing up from where you are 2 teeth or so

10.5, 13.5 and 17.5 in pan car classes looking for some advice
I run 1/12th pan car and WGT10 .

Been told by reedy driver in Uk set up for 10.5 blinky is motor 40 degree of timing and 65mm rollout ????
So looking for the same in 17.5 blinky 1/12th
WGT10 is running 10.5 boosted and maybe 13.5 blinky soon.
Any help txs in advance. Im running both associated cars with the updated LRP SXX version 2 with new boards fitted.

Most of the Sonic Racers run 40deg with the following roll
17.5: 100 ish
13.5: 90 ish
