Barry Baker with Yokomo/LRP???

1 Attachment(s)
Hey all: Noticed in the 2011 Reedy Race coverage that Barry was running the new Yokomo sedan with LRP power so has he left checkpoint/O'Donnell racing? Also Is he a team driver for Yokomo now or just using their car for this one race and will this improve availability and customer service for Yokomo in the USA? Thanks for the info :spidey:

Odd....I thought he was working at Novak not too long ago?

Although I do feel a bit nostalgic. I remember 10 years ago, I had a Yokomo MR4TC and at the time, Baker was winning tons of races with it.

There was a "Barry Baker Edition" MR4TC that had all the goodies and I believe came pre-assembled by Barry Baker himself.

Barry has moved around a lot in the industry. The last time I saw him, he was running for Hot Bodies.

That is so true. He has been almost every place in the hobby..

This one time, at band camp...... Barry Baker switched sponsors and killed RCTech for 15 minutes. True story.

The info on RCProGear game from Barry directly, so it's accurate.

Wow...Adam...It makes it seem like I said that out of my mouth and I would never say something like that...Please clearify...thanks.

Oh, sorry for the confusion. That was my quote back in 2006 during the "where will Barry Baker go next" thread.

I'm the one that's tactless, Barry would never say anything like that.

Who's Barry baker he must be cool or something

Barry Baker 06-12-2011 09:57 PM

I do not work in the industry anymore and only race for fun...its not my job.

Luckily I still have friends in the industry that are willing to help with me racing.

I chose to use Yokomo at the IIC last year and have been very happy since driving the car. Lrp was willing to help me out as I have been helped by them for many years off and on and they are always there with open arms.

There are different reasons why I have moved around the past few years...some budget and some due to new and exciting opportunities.

Now I have moved on past being a "PRO" RC racer to a "hobbiest" and LOVING it!!!!!!

I think your next step should be a porn star!!!!

Barry,

Sounds like you are in a really good place now. All the best to you.

Always been a fan regardless of the haters

Cool

Barry, you dont know me, but you signed a body from IIC last year for Bruce of Speedmerchant for my 7yr old son Vincent. It's hanging on his wall in his room. He still wonders who Barry Barker is, LOL. Thanks so much, it was a pretty cool gesture for the little guy!
