Default Brushless motor sizes

I've been looking at Tacon brushless motors for my RS4 and noticed that there are two different "540" sized motors. They are the same diameter but the "L" ones are 10mm longer than the others. Is there a benefit to this? I know the larger the diameter the more torque the motor will have but length?

Thanks!

380, 450 and 550 are the sizes I know of. There are larger motors for 5th and 4th scale, but I've never seen them in person.
