Why not just run CS HIGH SILVER brushes on ordinary brush motors... Then you can have about 80 runs, without a significant drop in performance... Run times will not be optimal after 20 runs, but it will be good 'till 'bout 50, and then last 30 will be ok...

Then true it, and repeat it all over again...

Pleanty of motor can touch, and drop the V2 motor's. There is nothing special about them other then the life of them. Mod Oval is the ultimate HP class, and the only class in which motors can make or break a race, along with driver, car, setup, but motor more then any other class. There are no V2's running in oval for the reason that they just dont have that psychotic rip, that can be had from Ti's, and D5's, when built by the right person.

The V2's are fast in only one class, mod sedan, and since driver, tires, setup mean more in that class then motor, its pointless to make any opinions on what that motor does in that class.

I'm not saying that they are slow, but since all the oval winders are still running what works and whats fast, its a sure fire sign that the V2 still needs more to get the rip to compete.

Many will argue that point. Most would consider Mod sedan the Formula 1 of R/C racing and requires the most advanced motor and battery technology to be competitiive.

Oval winders have not had access to V2 teardowns up until now. The first OEM teardown motors have just been shipped. I am confident V2 based motors will conquer oval just as they have Mod sedan.

JPHRacer,
WOW I have not heard or seen ANY news or publicity about Mod Oval in several years. This appears like it is kinda dead which means the top notch drivers really arent competing in that class therefore the top notch motor builders arent even trying to make or wind a motor to compete in that class.

To me it seems like you are way off the truth with your statements about Orion.

Rick: Most would consider that, but most are wrong. How many guys at the reedy race in mod sedan were having trouble finishing? I have yet to see a race in wich sedans are taxing their equipiment like the oval guys are, have you?

Flame thats funny that you said that, its very far from the truth, Trinity, Reedy, Putnam, Kisbey, all have very strong oval platforms, and soon Checkpoint will have just as strong of a oval program as well.

I'm not going to let this turn into an oval vs. sedan debate, back to the topic at hand, Checkpoint motors.

I have no seen or competed in a major oval race lately so it is hard to compare one to another.

Finishing? You mean batteries lasting? Many never got that far, their motors exploding or losing balance before batteries become a factor. Once you figure out how to keep the motor together, you can worry about run time.

Hara seems to have no problem getting as much if not more rip from a V2 compared to any other motor...
