Default 2002 IFMAR World Championships in South Africa

Hi all,

Just thought I'd start a thread for information, results, and general discussion about the Worlds.

So if anybody has any info, post away!

Shouldn't you post it in the racing forum?

Haha, just kidding.

Anybody has any info on 1/10 TC practices?

Is Hara racing? Not mentioned anywhere at team-orion.com.

Touring Car is after 12th scale so that's probably when you'll see Hara's name. I don't think that he runs 12th scale.

I am going to merge this with the Worlds thread. Keep the info coming everybody!

Hopefully in 2003-4, R/C Tech will have a reporter or two wherever the Worlds end up.

Default World's 2002

6th round of Qualifying starts in a couple of hours as it is 10 hours ahead in South Africa it should be interesting to see what happens. Tosolini has the third fasest time, done in the 5th round and only the top 5 have turned 33 laps with Masami and Splashett hitting the magic 34 lap the last round but dumped badly on the last lap..they won't take that chance in the A mains
More to come

If no one else can do 34 laps then I'd take that same run in the mains.

Sounds great.
It'll be really gone global or something.

I read from somewhere that Hara's not running 1/12 but will be racing 1/10. Can't wait to see the result.

Masami Hirosaka is 2002 1/12th scale World Champion, he won the first and second finals.

Exciting Second place is still to be decided between Chris Tosolini, David Spashett and Hideo Kitazawa.

When do you think Worlds will be covered by ESPN? Just wondering why other sports get included while r/c racing has been around for decades and yet nothing on tv?

Just a dream
