Default Super Brain 969 Pro and NiMh batteries

I am currently using a Super Brain 969 Pro to charge up my 2400 NiCd stick packs for my TC3. I have only been in this hobby for a couple months, so I am still upgrading equiment as I go.

I know the next big step is to go to NiMh batteries. I was looking at some batteries and I see they need to be charged at 6 amps. My Super Brain 969 only charges at 4.5amp max.

Am I screwed from using NiMh batteries?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, suggestions on assembled NiMh packs?

I use the same charger and I've used for about half a year now. Its a great charger. Ya I've used NiMh batteries. The more amps you charge them at the more punch you get. The lower the amps the longer run time but not as much punch. You can still charge those batteries but you just might not have the full amout of power. I have the charger just because of the price. If I were you i would try to get a LRP Pulsar sport or competition 2. Those are other good chargers for its price.

I use that charger to charge my NIMH batteries. I've also got a friend with a nicer charger that can charge at 6.5amp. I've had him charge my cells at 6.5 and have not noticed a difference in punch. As long as you repeak your packs prior to racing the voltage is still as high if charged at a higher amper rate ... for me anyway.

I do wish I could charge at a higher rate now mainly so I could have the packs done quicker. But it's a great charger for the price.
