define great results I know my mini ran fine, but i wouldn't say the results were 'great'

The 28th is the cutoff before the late fee gets applied. Anyone know if its possible to add at class once you are there? (assuming you are already signed up for another class).

I just noticed this ROAR battery charging update and thought I would share.
Quote:

8.3.2.5.5 Batteries must be charged with chargers that have balance ports, using only the balance mode for charging, or an acceptable alternative demonstrated to the satisfaction of the President and/or Technical Director. Charging without balance mode and without a balancing harness is not permitted. Simply connecting the harness and not using the balance mode is cause for disqualification. Only 1S 1P batteries may be charged without balancing, as itís only one cell. Any packs consisting of 2P and/or 2S will require balanced charging or approved alternatives.

Balance charging ensures that each cell within the pack charges individually to full capacity. Non-balanced charging may inadvertently overcharge one cell, and undercharge the other. Under these conditions, the risk for battery failure is greater, or at least you will suffer from reduced performance.

but this was posted, by Steve Pond on ROAR's website:
Quote:
No Mark, it won't. Not for this season. We want to give everyone time to get the adapters for their chargers, the vast majority of which have a balance port, but not the connector between the charger and battery. My Hyperion chargers came with them, but I know that some don't. There are also some chargers, like the GFX, that don't have a balancing feature.

So, this won't be in effect until the start of the next electric season, which will be the fall indoor season into the 2012 outdoor season. There are a number of changes that I'm sure most racers will like, but let us finalize and post the entire text so everyone can digest it for a bit and give us feedback based on the proposal.

As a side note, we will be check for charging sacks. There are a LOT of racers that are very nonchalant about it, and one good fire from a damaged battery can really change their world in the blink of an eye. We still have to recognize the power and potential harm that can come from undetected damage to a battery that's charging. We need to get more serious about respecting what can happen when things go wrong.
as an answer to the cell balance charging being enforced

So do you have to have a balance plug or not for the Nats?

Why does ROAR continue to major changes right before a National event?

Okay.. Back to the topic... Let's race!!

Sorry to confuse. I didn't realize it had already been addressed. I just saw it on the announcement page. Thanks for clarifying!
