Suspension Tuning with Turnbuckles

Test vehicle: Thunder Tiger Sparrowhawk VX. Vintage Trans Am Class
Steering test 1: 1st picture. With the stock setup as shown in the picture the inside tire turns less than the outside cousing a understeer or pushing in corners, but gave a consistent predictable feel. Steering test 2: 1st picture (red circles). Using short turnbuckles in the 2nd hole circled in red. The inside tire turned more than the outside. Giving the car a tighter turning radius, but a inconsistent unpredictable fell when the steering would reach full, or very close to full turn. I liked the steering better in test 2. My cure for the inconsistent feel around full turn was to limit the EPA's just a bit. Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions on turning? Rear suspension test 3: Not done yet Front suspention test 4: Not done yet Would like to hear thoughts on the effects of using different length turnbuckles on the front and rear in different holes (red circles in picture 2 and 3) Please keep it simple. Thanks, KBorg. |
