You can see the width of the rear tires is much wider on the 103.
Lon, I am well aware of the differences between the various F1 Tire widths. I just don't understand the different widths listed in the Tamiya specs. Actually, the Retro cars do not have grooved tires, they run the wider slicks, with the "huge" rear and "tiny" fronts. The grooved tires are the taller looking, narrower ones as used on the F201 4wd. The latest F1 tires should look like the F201's but be Slicks. Tamiya attempts to keep up with F1 realism with the tires and bodies but it's hard to keep the grooves in foam tires lol. Running the retro bodies with the narrow set-ups would look im-reallistic.

I don't envy you trying to make rules, it must be your first time ; ) It doesn't get easier!!

Good luck racing tomorrow, hope the track is healed up!

If any of you guys are free come to Strictly Raceway on the 26th June. I'm going to be in the area that weekend and going to be running my new F104.
Was hoping more F1 guys could come down .... to make sure we get a race :-)
Not much going on any where else so why not come out?

www.strictlyrc.net/index

Going to be taking my TC too ... just incase, and cause I haven't raced for a good while

See you there.

Just wanted to give the Toledo crew a heads up that Dish and I will be coming down tomorrow and bringing the F1 cars to run. I will also have a bunch of stuff with me to sell, such as bodysets, decals , and parts.
Looking forward to running on the track, hope the weather cooperates.

Sweet
It will be nice to see you guys again.
I'll be there about 9:30ish.
I'd like to see how the F1's do with foam and rubber tires.

Brad and Dish thanks for coming down and showing us your cars. We now have a firm grasp of what we want this class to be! I will start writing some rules once I get some free time. Right now I'm knee deep in bodies that need to be painted before this weekend.

We got allot of gas racing to do first, however those sure look neat! Better make a rule that the car has to look good.

It was our pleasure to come down and run and be able to talk about F1 and how a class might work.
For all of you that have been inquiring about the cost of cars, bodies, etc... I have been trying to work up the numbers for you, but I have been buried at work this week, I am hoping to button up the numbers and send them out this weekend

Bump, Getting closer.

I saw Hammer has his car.
Mines ordered.
I have heard talk of people being close to ordering or maybe getting a car.

If you dont knot the rules for our class Dasmopar has them its pretty strait forward.

Anyways I thought I would get us chatting again.

I need to do the body for Teds car, the Torro Rosso that was on it last weekend was for show, but is available for sale.
For those who want to order cars, whether I am building them or you are doing them yourselves, I need to get an idea of the numbers we are talking about. The bigger my order from the distributor, the faster it gets here. I am getting pretty backlogged with bodies and chassis'. The sooner you place an order with a deposit the sooner you will get your car.
PM me for details

Well that puts me out. When people come by my pit area they say something like "Was anybody else hurt in that wreck."
