Hey all: Sad to here of Mike Reedy's passing my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I think he along with Gill Losi SR. although they've both been out of the spotlight for quite a while now are still the two biggest icons in the rc industry so today is an end of an ere. R.I.P.

My first open endbell motor was a Reedy-Yokomo in the mid 80's. Thank you then, thank you now for a wonderful hobby.

RIP

Here's a statement from Mike Reedy's family:

The statement contains a link for making contributions in Mike's memory to the National Parkinson Foundation.

I'm very sad to hear about Mike Reedy passing away... I'm sure everyone has heard a lot about him being 'the nicest guy in RC': it's all true! I had the pleasure of meeting him around the time he was scaling back his race trips, but I saw him at many races on the West Coast and at SoCal RC several times. He even offered me a drive (not that I was any good) and told me a few stories about some of the big names in RC. It's great to hear stories about him from so many people. He was a great guy and he'll be missed.

My deepest sympathies to Mr. Reedy's family. He was, truly, one of the individuals that helped to further the interests of the hobby/sport.

I remember the first time I met him at the Indoor Champs, maybe '92 or '93. I called him Mr. Reedy then, and he told me, that his name was Mike. I was just a kid at the time, and was in awe at how laid back he was. Truly an innovator, and a great representative for our little toy car hobby.

Mike Reedy you will be missed...........

If it wasn't for the foresight and skills of men like Mike Reedy, this sport wouldn't be what it is today. I've known Mike since the early 80's and was always impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Thank you for all that you have done...you will be remembered and missed.
