It's really a sad day for the r/c world, just yesterday we lost Gualtiero Picco and now Mr. Reedy.

My condolence to their families.

Mike was a outstanding person in both the personal and racing scenes.

All I can say is if you where in his camp you strived for the best and if you where against his camp he just made you strive to be better.

RIP Mike.

I first met Mike Reedy in 1978 and even then he was a legend on the R/C scene with his modified motors. But Mike was a lot more than just the most successful motor builder ever. He was instrumental in growing R/C into an international sport by being constantly involved as a forward-thinking leader during his term as IFMAR President.

Behind the scenes Mike was a key to Team Associated's long run as one of the top racing teams. Mike was always on the look-out for talented upcoming racers to sponsor, many of whom went on to be World Champions. And while it was a rare sight due to his heavy work load helping team drivers, Mike would occasionally pick up a transmitter and enter the race as a driver. And let me tell you, a crowd would always line the track to see if he could handle the fastest motor you've ever seen.

Mike had the nicest and friendliest personality you'll ever meet. Always there for you if you needed help. Always looking for ways to make a faster motor. Always looking forward to the next event and chatting with all of the drivers. And he was a pillar of integrity, proving that a nice guy can finish first.

So RIP Mike, you had a great life, a successful career, and you left an everlasting impression on the R/C industry and the lives of countless R/C drivers.

Legend is such an overused words these days, but Mike truly is.

He leaves behind such a long legacy for the sport, and one of those names that just synonymous with our hobby.

RIP Mike
