LMAO ...

I haven't had to tear mine apart to check my balls......ok got me too.... It has worked perfect since I installed it and hasn't changed. Still adjusts great and holds its setting. I have only run 5 to 10 charges through it. I'm not sure that's enough to get a groove to form.

Is it possible it's a sensor wire ?

Its not bound up on the on the shaft gear, like the cam on the retainer is too snug now? If the gear mesh is off it might make the motor feel mushy.

Cmon Charles, you know how to set a ball diff. Same as the direct drive on the 104/103. Tight enough to not slip, etc...
Looks like we both need to evaluate some motors tho huh?
Your 21.5 for F1 and my 17.5 for 1s 1/12 scale. Our shit was slow in those classes Sunday.

So I took it apart for a complete break down, and it's definitely a motor problem... I can barely turn the motor shaft with my hand... guess the diff was fine all along...

Hey guys,
I received today my screw sets for my fgx from That Guy Racing.
The packing is excellent, every different screw type is in individual packages and the quality is as good as all the other expensive ones but at a fraction of the price.
And the big bonus is the customer service is unlike anything I have experienced before, extremely helpful, friendly, postage is priced well and ships quite quickly and their product knowledge is great.
I definitely recommend using these screws and turf the soft crappy ones,
For the people that are interested in ordering a set or 2 contact is via email at
[email protected]
I definitely will be buying another one or two sets to keep in the pit box!

Let us know what you find when you tear the motor down. Maybe just a failed bearing?

Motors are pretty easy to tear down. Easier than a servo. Give it a shot.

Forgot to ask. Brushed or brushless? brushless are easier but both are pretty straight forward. Just watch the shims.

Hi.
I finally managed to put my car on the move. I had second run last night.
The setting is by manual except camber because, from the first run, the car was spinning everywhere. The camber now is 3 and feel great driving.
The issue I have right now is gearing. The power system is castle sidewinder 5600kv first version with 24t pinion.
The car was sloooow and the esc got so hot that i can barely touch it after less than 10 min drive. I grinded the battery post - plastic part- and 24t was the biggest i could fit in. I almost cried looking at other bigger pinions on my hand.
Thinking about getting exotek conversion kit but feel stupid to invest almost 100 just for pinion fit. Should I?

Are you running the 35 tooth spur? Should be able to fit a 31, 32 pinion without grinding.

Done, but if I fix it, it's going back! Then I can be considered and engine supplier.
