few new pics of painted FGX with Red Bull decals from Brad Palmer... These decals blow away D-Drive...

You can compare FGX body with a 104 body...

Great shots as usual Charles, the body looks great, and thanks for the compliments, I am making small running changes to all the artwork as we go along. I need to do a visor, belts and decals for the helmet, I'm just really tight on space

That looks great from the angles you got pics of...but previous pics of the FGX body I didn't like the look of the body much. I'd like to see a good shot from about 45 degrees up.

How are you setting your camera to get that short focal length? I want to do some VTA shots like that.

Not sure what VTA means

Those images of the RedBull were pretty easy to do... I used a soft box placed directly above the car... I shot them at F22 to maintain focus throughout the car... I used a longer focal length to compress the subject... 200mm... and placed the camera very low on the ground... I call the soft box, the "idiot box" ... because everything in front of it looks good...

Last two shots of the LM car shot with a wider focal length, I just added a rim light from the back with a lot of warming... The angle of the rim light in relation to the camera is important to pick up the reflection on the subject... I turned down the soft box a few stops to give it a more late afternoon feel and opened the shutter to 2 seconds ... The strobe freezes the subject and gives you the sharper part initial exposure, and the 2 second shutter picks up the remaining ambient light... I also played around with moving the camera during this two second...

Hope that answers you question

I'd run it first and see how it feels on track.

HiH
Ed
Ed, today SGP1 warm race, I try MUGEN #30000 in diff, and MUCHMORE 450 in shock. I like heavy diff oil with PRADISE tire in RCI, if you have time to RCI, I think you can try it
Today 30min final, my rabbit car haven't any tire slip or grip problem, surprise

How did you feel about the results? What was the motor type and gearing? How did the car handle? Any problems keeping up with the traditional direct drive cars?

The way it is looking I won't get to run mine for a week or 2. Still waiting on gears and spurs from Dinball.

I use UFO21.5T gearing is 2.789(spur35/pinion34) or 2.777(spur41/pinion40)
3.5mm downstop
rear roll bar
MUGEN #30000 in diff
MUCHMORE 450 in shock
1 degree rear camber
3 degree rear toein
TAMIYA F103 front suspension
3 racing gold front spring
TAMIYA F104 body and front/rear wing
CYCLONE 12 rear shock and black shock spring, 2 hole piston, I think spring is soft than FGX stand spring
HOTBODIES servo saver

In Shanghai SGP1 F1 rc-racing, we always use pradise rubber tire, it's control tire. Race is a 30min qualify round each group, re-sort to final by your best lap time, Final A is 30min race.

Today's setting is a little understeering, but I think in a long race, tire grip will down, stable car is good for me.

In corner car is very smooth. Out of corner I can push more throttle, car will not slip.

a few days ago, I try same setting but only diff oil different or same setting with F103GT front suspension. Light diff oil, car will more steering, if track grip is lower , I hold throttle in s corner, car maybe will slip. F103GT suspension will give car more steering, but I don't like F103GT front suspension, front tire have bigger shake than F103

Lookin at those RB pics...I'm thinking the Lotus Renault scheme would go really well on the FGX body...about the right shape.
