You still have the possibility to print a 14mm hex to use conventional F1 rims, but in this case, the rear width will be larger than original...

HPI used the same rim. Tamiya F201 also has 12mm hexes.

Hi,
I did my on little conversion-kit for the FGX, after I found this on the internet: https://www.tqrcracing.com/forum/vie...no=21&bbs_no=8
What I wanted to achieve:
  • motor on ground level
  • all gears are 64pt. (FDR is 4,027)
  • fully adjustable rear suspension (anti-dive was not possible with 3racing components)
  • a straight rear camber-arm
  • less weight -> need to compare when finished
  • no modification of OEM-parts
  • want to use a brace insted of an rod, between the rear bulkhead cover and the upper deck
Are there any recommendations from FGX-Owners, before I print the final version of the rear bulkhead cover? Would really appreciate it.

The spur looks like it will hit the turnbuckle. I could be wrong and the angle makes it look that way. If it does, here’s what I did…

And if anyone is looking for it, Exotek has the conversion back in stock.

Hi,
yes the space is very limited between spur gear and my suspension attachment. I nearly finished V2 and shifted the shaft and the damper arm 1mm to the front. That should give me enough room to play a bit with the push-rod position. Also purched some hopefully shorter bull-studs to help with the clearance.
(Grey is the new version)

What advantage du you expect from the rear aluminium brace? Other than looking shiny and raising the CoG?

Somebody sold me the Mckune conversion with the aluminum brace included. I just found out about its extra weight vs the plastic one. I also only have plastic bulkheads and never weighed them. I guess they will also be half the weight of the aluminum ones.
Weighing every single part of this car is the only way to shave weight: I wonder how much the shocks with their long steel shafts weigh...Time to get my machinist involved to make a spool and aluminum rear axles...Later....

Check this link for FGX parts belt conversion parts needed. That is the prototype back in 2013 and is called Cal13 FGX.
