Thanks!
The titanium front axles are still the way to go for the best bearing fit;

They are machined better then the stockers.

Mike,

Are you guys working on any kind of a brace to shore up the OEM IFS setup? I love your guys chassis, just not ready to make the plunge to the whole tamale quite yet

Yes, a simple 1mm thick steel plate is in the works. It supports all of the lower ball ends to keep any 1 of them from ripping apart the plastic mounting points. Will lower the front roll center a tad too for more front grip while adding only minimal weight

Will the IFS plate work with Troy's chassis? Just wondering.

All,

Been reading this thread - good information.
My FGX is in the mail should have it in the next couple of days. Also ordered the IFS, sway bars, titanium coated pins, and a few other upgrades. Not going to be racing it yet - no one is racing them locally right now.

Still have to get tires and electronics. I will probably go with the Savox servo.

Looking at sensored brushless system - any recommendations - I know size is an issue.

Thanks

Glad to hear another F1 is coming to the Greenville area! I'm in TR and have a buddy in Asheville and we are ready to race! We both have FGX's and other F1's and ran a bit at the Hobby Connection last Saturday, on the small oval.

I have talked with David at the store about getting the road course going again and he is fine with it. I will be posting on the track forum to try to get more interest and plan some practice days. (F1, TC, USVTA, etc. are all welcome and encouraged.)

The motor/esc choice is not too bad. The Novak Ballistic type works well. The smaller the esc the easier it is to mount especially since the current trend is to mount it in front of the motor, behind a shorty battery.

Contact me with any questions or whatever, I'll be glad to try to help!!

Ned

Come to think of it...The big problem with the Pit Shimizu tires on the F104 is the rim cuts into the overlap part of the tire. Given this mod glues that portion to a rubber gasket this may actually fix that problem as well.

Yep, I was the one drooling over your car at the Connection. You made me get one!!!! It was all your fault.

I figure I will drive it as much as possible inbetween racing the SC4x4.
