Since my JRXS is now doing VTA duty, I've taken to outfitting it with Type-R stuff. This picture shows two cool upgrades. The first is the JR-Link. We used to make these out of an extra front suspension arm and c-hub. However, the link was so long it left you with no camber gain. The JR-Link from the Type-R kit (LOSA1218 $10) is about 2mm shorter, so thankfully it does provide some camber gain! The other nice part about it is that it's made of EA3 material.

The other neat thing in this picture is the Type-R steering rack (LOSA1548 $8), which has another set of holes further in on the rack. That provides more Ackerman giving a much livelier steering feel. The rack just has to be bolted in upside down (as shown) because the JRXS bell cranks aren't as slim as the Type-R bell cranks which causes the rack to rub if installed right side up. As with the stock rack, be sure to use a microscopic dab of blue threadlock on the bolts to keep the rack from steadily unscrewing itself.

Two easy bolt-ons from the younger brother Type-R that make the car better for less than $20.

If you guys really want to deck out your mid-motor JRXS, grab the Type-R diffs and driveshafts to lower the pin drag by about 8,000%!

I want to buy a JRXSR, I really want to, but I am held back by the fact that nothing new is coming from losi... I sent them an email about it. Can someone give me a little hope about something new ? ability to fit 5400 lipos ? a new softer top plate ? Having a car that has such potential in their hands and doing nothing to promote it the slightest bit is driving me crazy.

I DONT want to buy a car that I'll have to modify with a dremel out of of the box just to give it the proper flex. Am I alone in this situation ? Man, if I ended up buying one just before they finally release the much needed updates, that would piss me off real bad. Sorry for the half unnecessary post, I just had to let it out.

Your questions on the JRXS-R can be answered on this thread for it...

Look back in the tread a bit. There are mods to be made for LiPo use.

The JRX-S still lives on!

Got the JRX-S out of storage (2 years) and cleaned the dust off it over the weekend... slapped a current set of electronics in (tekin rs w/ SP V3 10.5), balanced it 50-50 front/rear/left/right, taped in an Intellect IP4000 stick pack LiPo and set it up quite similar to the TypeR (but with softer rear springs).

Went racing tonight (rubber/carpet/no additives), and I couldn't believe that the car drives so nice TQ'd and won both Mains. Easy to drive and very consistent (0.33sec to 0.44secs). Makes me want to put my TypeR down and run this for a while!

I am looking forward to getting the one I just bought on the track. Got it for a steal! 75 bucks shipped! Cant get a type r for that money. I will be doing some testing as soon as it comes in and throwing in a 17.5 from speed passion. Good times!

I am willing to guess no. The reason is that the NiMh cells are rounded at the ends which is what the car was built around. Thats what causes most of the fit issues with this chassis. But there is only one true way to find out and that is to buy one and see. I wish i could help further but i am limited to what i can do. You may want to look at the 3300 packs and see what there dimensions are and compare them to this pack. If they are the same then the same mods i did for mine will work for this pack. Really for the length of the race i truly didn't need anything over 3000 mAh. Brushless motors are so efficient that they don't typically need the high mAh (at least for VTA) Buggies and Truggies are a dif story.

I would try it myself but I no longer have this car. It was VERY successful at the track and i got an offer I could not refuse. Hope this may help.
