Hi there everyone.

We went to the Cotswolds in th UK last sunday and to be honest i got completely owned!?!?!? On the infeild i was really fast and made up loads of time ;D however down the straight i was trounced!? :-[ now i was running a gear ratio of around 5.86, so i thought i'd have an ask around and it seems that most other people were around 4.8. what my question was will an TS atlas 19 be able to handle this as my motor was getting hot at my current ratio even with cool can fan on it.

Any one got any advice on this????

The track has a flowing infield and two huge straights and a couple of shorter straights.

Help!!!!! I don't mind been the only Losi there I do mind been blown away!!!

The atlas motors can push a lot, so go for it, i personally have run mine even harder.

Remember, if you are geared under, the motor will get really hot as well, since it is spinning all out the whole time.

Hi
Never been to the Cotswolds, but I always run my TS Atlas 2 gears higher (48 pitch) than say a C2 based motor. If you say the other guys were on abround the 4.9 why werent you following there ratios. It sounds to me you were well under geared
What were the colour of your brushes after it got real hot? I run the H1 brush and have found them to be very consistant when you get the gearing right.

I am still on my quest to put the Numan setup on my car for the next race - my latest query is on the rear turnbuckle - On the Numan setup it goes into hole a on the hub and hole 3 on the shock tower. This is the shortest possible setting and I cannot get my camber down to negative figures - am I supposed to change the ball studs to shorter ones?

By the way what does the shorter link do?

Cut down the ball cup so you can get the length required. Honestly, I have felt that the middle position on the shock tower works well with the Newman setup. A shorter link gives you more camber rise.

Can you tell me what camber rise means - sorry for being a bit stupid about this.
