Also do you need a spur gear adaptor to run the team losi 90t 48pitch spur gear?
No, it goes on like their 64pitch, no adapter needed.

Hey guys,

What tire is better Sorex or Take-Offs?

What are popular in the different compounds and foam inserts?

And what rim do you run so they clear the front camber mod?

I've only run Sorex... but I've heard the Take-off's provide better grip over the life of the tire whereas the Sorex are better in the first 2 runs.

The absolute best insert/tire combo I've run is a Sorex 36 with a Xenon Black insert.... excellent grip. I’ve tried most variations of Hara’s, Yok’s, Sorex’s, but the best was the Xenon blacks….

I've only ever run Yokomo precision rims and the old XXXS rims; they both cleared the JR Mod with no rubbing.

Regards,
Peter

Personally I like the RP's better than the Take offs and the Sorex. I ran each last year and the RP's to me were outstanding for performance and durability! The CS tires have been fairly good but they always develope that wear ridge on the inside of the tread. The Sorex were good but didn't last as long as the RP's. I ran the RP's on Losi wheels and on Yokomo wheels all with the Xenon black insert. The Losi wheels give a big air gap if you need it and the Yokomo tires had a smaller air gap but it was still plenty for the tires to stay cool. I also ran the RP premounts and had the same results. By the half way mark last season I was on the RP's and loving them. Hope this helps

When we run in the STCC we have to run a control tyre called SSB's a Corally brand tyre which is about a 28 so a little harder than a CS27 but has great traction even on cold surface with tyre Tweak and tyre warmers. Myself and another guy who ran the very same compound of tyres the week before at Bedworth STCC decide between us that we should run them at West London Track and found them to be far quicker tyre than CS22's/27's and RP's so thats my conclusion of my tyre choice. The only down side to the tyres 'There preglued' I hate pre glued, I much prefere to glue my own up, then theres onl;y one person I can blame when and if they come of the rims. I got about 10 runs out of the tyres
