Snowbirds was awesome! Big thanks to Hodge and Andrews for the parts. Those guys came through when the on-site hobby shop ran dry. But on that note, big thanks to Superior Hobbies for bringing a large selection of Losi parts (just needed a few more bits and pieces to finish off the week!).

After breaking more parts at Snowbirds than I have ever since purchasing the car last March, I was super excited to use what will be the saving grace for our cars. I'm not going to be any more descriptive 'cause the next question will be "How long 'till it comes out?", which we all know the answer to. Sufficed to say, if I couldn't break it at Snowbirds, it's going to be a mighty tough product!

As the man Tod says 'Yea the CVD drill is TRICK too!'
This is the text from the flyer I produce
you can view the Drill-Shaft-Tool on our site www.coolcanfan.com

The ‘Drill-Shaft-Tool
Within most of the RC cars, the holes within the drive shaft will become worn or even break through and therefore slop will acurre.

As in this picture above

This ingenious and precise tooling will drill new holes in many models of RC Car drive shafts i.e., Losi XXX-S/XXX4/XXXT/XXX/JRX-S TC3/4 PRO 2 PRO3 PRO4 New Corally RDX and many more besides, so as to re-use them at least 3 times longer and therefore saving the purchase of new ones.
The Drill-Shaft-Tool dimensions are 70mm x 43mm x23mm and has thumbscrews which holds the drive-shaft precisely so as to drill a further 3 holes.
As in this picture below

This precision Drill-Shaft-Tool product will save you an astonishing £36.00 by drilling one drive shaft alone,
Example Losi XXX-S normally £11.99 retail a drive-shaft

Place the tired/worn drive shaft into the Drill-Shaft tool making sure it seats firmly to the base of the allotted hole.
Turn the thumbscrews equally to lock the drive shaft into position
Place one of the drills supplied into a drill (a pillar drill is not required for this action) and carefully drill the new hole through one side of the Drillshaft and out through the other side taking care when drilling.
Release the thumbscrews so as to be able to rotate the drive shaft so as to drill yet a further two holes.

The Drill-Shaft-Tool is a small but simple tool, and can to slip into your pit-box..
This tool is made of high-grade aluminum and anodized in blue, and has case hardened drill bushes to withstand re-use. It has two different size holes, one at either end to accompany many manufacturers. And is very easy to use. There will also be two drills to correspond to the holes in the bushes. This quality tool will be priced at just £29.99

gotta get my hands on one of those CVD drills. always wondered why manufacturers like MIP dont already have the extra holes pre-drilled .... then again, i should wonder .... that would mean less revenues for them hahaha!

I had come up with the idea over three years ago when I then had a TC3 and was fed up with purchasing new drive shafts, and saw a market for such a tool. Do you see Tod on your travels? if so ask him for a peak I have drilled all my drive shafts ever since, XXX-S and JRX-S an absolute must for the guy's that use a SPOOL
