Any new info on the battery tray to fit 3700 and 3800 batteries. I know they were making them and they said the end of May for a date. Well, it's June!! I bought this car the week it came out and STILL have not run it because I only have 3800's. Even the part number for the tray so I can backorder it would be helpful. Not complaining but I tired of seeing such a good car be a shelf queen and I'm currently not racing, waiting for the tray.

Javier,

Hmmmm...Why does the response I got back from Billy B say "1st Annual Losi Championships"? Thought this was the "Speedworld Cup" but the mod TC entries are Losi, Losi, Losi with all the BIG BOYS coming. A Losi shootout???

This could be most cool...

Bill

pt,

Come to Ripon this afternoon and I will give you my setup.

You will initially need to order two things to do the setup...BK Shock Brackets for $10 from POOKYT (on this board) and Losi 10.5# springs for rear of car ($3).

Worked for me at Ripon last week.

Bill

Man, you still haven't run yours....ouch!

All we know as of now is that its coming...like you said. But I hadn't heard anything specific about the date.

You could do a search of this thread to see the mods I did to my car. It seems drastic to some, but when you factor in that it only takes a set of F/R bulkheads LOSA4310, and the new tray of course, to return to kit stock specs, it really isn't that bad. And anyone who has seen my car run will tell you, the mod has had NO performance drawbacks.

And its certainly a hell of a lot better than looking at your car on a shelf while you wait for Losi to come through with the 'magic' tray.

The choice is yours of course, I know as soon as the tray comes out I'll be buying one, and getting back to kit spec condition, but I'm not going to just not race until then.

Good luck to you, which ever way you decide to go.

Hi Dark,

Truly, my best performing batteries of my IB3600s and GP3700s are the 3600s. I only use the aluminum tray for the few times I practice or qualify with 3700s. 3600s are my race batteries for now.

The 3800s may well change that though.

Bill

I never got around to trying the IB3600 cells. I'm not an early battery converter, so the 300mah gain over 3300 cells didn't seem like it was worth it. But then, when I was ready to switch, I was actually trying to get some of the 3600 from Kinetix, then a couple other places. But around the time the JRX-S finally came out, it seemed EVERYBODY that I trusted (and could affoard ) was out of stock on the IB3600.

Thats how I ended up with the GP3700 packs from Pro-Match. Wasn't neccesarily looking for them....just kinda happened upon them. Looking back now, I'm glad it worked out that way. These are the best packs I've ever owned.

The size is an inconvience right now, more for some cars than others(took like 3 minutes to adapt my Mi2 to them, compared to my JRX-S efforts), but it'll all iron out as the manufacturers start acconting for them with their initial design planning.

So really, for me I didn't go for the 3700 for any performance advantage over the 3600, its just that the 3700 were what was availible at the time.

Maybe its just me, but it looks like my caster blocks are not the same either... I can look at the material around the arm and see a difference in the amount of material on each side...

Jimmy- He ran an epoxied spool as opposed to spool pads, I know that for sure. I also think he ran an o-ring on top of the bladder, as opposed to the red Tamiya foam dot. He also ran the Stratus AP- I think the only one in the Open main. There are probably a few other differences, too, but I am not too sure on those...

Congrats on getting the Region 12 Championships, Billy. Hope I can make it up to your place for the race. I am going to try and make the Vegas race so we'll have to see how the dates work out.

I need to get to your track soon, this may be the time to do it.
