Gearhead obviously missed the point of my post and got WAAAYYYY too defensive.

The mechanical layout of the Pro-3 and JRXS are similar, except the JRXS put the motor in front instead of behind the batteries. They run the batteries downt he center and use a dual belt drive system with wide diffs and short axles.

that is every bit as similar as the dual-belt battery on one-side cars that were all lumped together by Todd.

Are there differences in build quality? suspension geometry? the components used for the suspension system? the weight distribution of the 'common' components...yes....

So if you lump all of the other cars together..than youmust also lump the JRXS with the Pro-3...is it fair or accurate? No.....but neither is lumping the other group.

Guys,

As a non-losi owner, I still often check into this thread to see all the chaos surrounding this car. It really is entertaining....

Something for you guys to think about:

What if Losi came out with the car and it had something wrong with it, like a weak front bulkhead. And they release it, not fully knowing the defect and all the racers out there start breaking those faulty front bulkheads, 'cause we don't all drive like Francis or Kinwald.
The fallout from that would be that: the design doesn't work, car is crap, what were they thinking, etc. I think it actually is a testament to Losi to wait and get it right. It ALMOST makes me more interested in the car, but I like my RDX too much to even think about switching...

My point is that these delays are so they can get whatever it is right....not to irritate the consumer.

How many cars are released without being "right"....I have owned my share of a few (i.e. Serpent 705)

Just my .02

As one of the ring leaders of the 'entertainment' around here, even I understand the point your makinig. But even with all the developement time in the world, cars can, and usually will, have one thing or another that is a weak point.

Like you said, we all don't drive like the team drivers. So technically, they could test and test and test....from here till forever, and not find that 'weak' spot that so many club racers will find in their first weekend. For example: You think HPI's team drivers were hitting stuff and popping teeth off the one-way ring gears like all of us mear mortals were when we got that car? Not likely...so how could HPI anticipate the problems it caused. Once they found out about it, they acted quickly. Which is the best you can do in most situations like that.

The real 'stress test' for the cars design, performance, and durability will only come in the hands of the customers. Its just the reality of situation...

I for one would like to offer my " mere mortal" status and do some R&D for Team Losi on this new car. I promise to you Todd, if it Can be broken, I will find it!! I will of course do this for free and file reports to Losi on a timely bassis.

There is going to be a long line for that job.

Any car will break if you hit something hard enough. A good designed car will have a weak spot built in (but not too weak) that is inexpensive and easy to replace. I would rather have that then random expensive parts breaking so you have to have a spare of every part available.

Speaking of that, to the team drivers and other lucky sods that have raced the car:

Can you list the parts, part numbers, and how many of each spare parts and option parts (like springs, sway bars, etc.) that you would take to a race so I can start ordering them.

Thanks.

You 'neutral' types make me sick. Pick a side, dig in and defend it as if your life depended on it!!! And anyone who disagrees with you, let them be damned!!!

For that is the way of all message boards!

What people really need to realise is that R/C message boards are tame compared to what you see in things such as gaming, F1 or goodness forbid.....Star Wars!

So things on this thread really never have gotten that bad...

NVisible, I was about to post that myself.

Instead, I will stand here waving the gray flag of neutrality!

If something happens, tell my wife I said... hello.
