I would be willing to try this here. If MSI, R/Car, Summit and The Gate would be game I think it would possibly be a good test case in Region 5

RC Scoring Pro already has a "club" points program. Maybe, Doug could/would be willing to adjust it so this might be able to be done. Someone would have to be willing/able to do the points "merge" for the test tracks.

Limit the classes used to test to say maybe VTA, restricted 17.5 TC, and a 1/12 class.

Im pretty handy with Excel so I could work out a spreadsheet with the necessary formula to make that happen

Dale at Summit is using an antique software and frankly is too trifling to change, good luck there, the other problem is it is already mid season and by the time this could realistically be implimented it would be a little late in the season.....that said it could be worked on for next year and if RC-Pro would provide the updated software I imagine between the Hurricane series and Grandslam, and the US Champs that would cover 10 big races and club runs over 6-8 tracks and that would be a real good test......
speaking as the promoter of the Grandslam perhaps a combined Midwest champion could be crowned across 5 states 2 series and the Champs.

I think in a region like yours with the sheer number of carpet and asphalt tracks around, if Mr Dale at Summit doesnt sign on you will not have a hard time finding another track to talk to who would (especially if RCSP can be updated for something like this)

However, it could still be done with the tracks using RCSP, even if it was a short term test case to see if the proposal(s) could work and then try a full season test starting in Aug 2011. The RCSP points program sheets would just have to sent to whomever would compile the data. http://www.rcscoringpro.com/downloads.html

Now, that is an darn fine idea Ken, as both series do have an overlap in geography as well as participants.

well like I said ercwhtsd, I am pretty handy with Excel (and if I forget how to do something I can look it up) so I can formulate a worksheet that could calculate the points for the three test classes

Im mapping out the workbook while I have a free moment and I was thinking of having pages for

Vintage Trans-Am
Sportsman (17.5) TC
Sportsman or Open 1/12
World GT (possibly)

Im going to need to know how many rounds will be part of this test before I can write the necessary formula(s) for calculating total points

I think we actually already noted that point. Its a matter of taking the points sheets from each track and compiling them into a central points table or something along that line.
