Thanks, spring71 ! But with the HPI It get's really twitchy when I use that or the soft-soft. Then I understeer when i use medium-medium. I'll go test the shimizu's next !

do they make a rear insert for the pit tires and tamiya rims that comes as a doughnut? i have a f104x1...

also what inserts are recommended for asphalt with the 0572 and 0573 combo?

Shimizus 571/572 come with the inserts, you only need to make some holes in the foam rims and use some good rubber tire glue. Perfect match for your F104X1

You don't have to glue the inserts.

If you want to, scotch tape works fine.

Ps-0550 is softer than stock inserts, gives you more traction.
Ps-0550-1 is the same inserts comes with ps-0572 & 0575.

do grooved or slick tyres work best for FGX on somewhat bumpy asphalt?

i have Ride/Bridgestone tyres soft back and front currently and get a lot of back end slide, would grooved be better?

I bought the new tamiya tires, it says that they are pit shimizu tires.
I've noticed that the inner foams for the rear tires are thin, do i need other foams or are they the correct ones?

Shimizu grooved tire has a lot more traction, so it will help.

No other insert needed other than the thin one that came with the pit tire. Air gap is OK.
