I have read the whole f104 pro and this tire topic and I still need some info:

Gluing the pits to foam wheels: -do we glue the whole "lip" of the tire (like we do on hpi vintage tires) or just the sharp edge of the wheels?
I imagine both will work but the tire sidewall is harder if the lip is firmly glued in the rim.

witch is correct?

Just assembled my first formula(104 pro) and ordered tires for it. I would like to make it right the first time.

Glue inside rip first and outside, and the other side.

Thanks, I did see that picture b4 and that is why I asked.

On pic#3 "glue wheels edge first" I thought it ment glue that part first and then glue the whole side of the tire to the wheel after that. Then do the other side(only the edge of that side of tire)

The problem for me was that no glue is visible on pic#3 at the side of the tire/wheel.So I was not sure are we suppose to glue that whole side of the tire also, not just the sharp edges.

thanks,

-Pate

Yes, Shimizu F104 tires fit on Tamiya Foam Wheels and Rubber wheels with modification.

Shimizu F103 tires and Ride F103 tires fit on Tamiya F103 foam wheels and Ride F103 rubber wheels.

Thanks.

Which Shimizu tire setup would you guys recommend for front and rear for F104?

This will be for summer (warm weather) racing on prepped asphalt track.

I only run 571/572 combo and couldn't ask for (or find) anything better.
Been a winning combo for us since their release.
Recently 577s have been seen up front on winning cars to calm steering reaction when rear grip isn't 100%.
See the tips in this thread for mounting, sand or grind off sharp edges of rims to help reduce the risk of sidewalls cutting from inside.
