50 bucks tops good for like a 4 year old |
Between the car for $275 and that Exceed car for $169, I would get the Exceed. That Exceed car comes with a brushless motor and brushless ESC, 2.4GHz radio, full bearings. If you need parts for it - you can @ least order it from either hobbypartz or NitroRCX; the eBay car would be difficult to find replacement parts.

what is a brushless motor and why is that beneficial to have? can you buy a preassebled car without a shell? how do people customize the led like that guy did? is it hard?

@raidernation
As your first r/c car, try building an entry level kit such as TT01 Drift Spec from Tamiya. It has different lexan body choices (Supra, RX7, Skyline, etc) so you will need to pick the kit number that you like. Also, it comes with LED kit and drift tires. Furthermore, it has full ball bearings, oil filled shocks, and a sport tuned motor as standard feature. You don't need brushless motor & electronic speed control right away. When you get more experience in R/C, then move up to high power system appropriately. Practice driving / drifting with stock setup and learn the handling, if you happen to burn out a motor then it would cost about $15 - $20 to replace the sport tuned motor. |
Just a suggestion but you really should look at the Team magic E4D. Bunch of them on Ebay right now. This is a great car and unlike the TT01 or just about any other basic chassis, the E4 can be upgraded with just about any part from or for the upper level E4 racing chassis as they are all basically the same. I race the E4FS and can honestly say it's the best car I've ever owned. easy to maintain and really good handling.
