2Bad: Yes, you should be able to check the BEC output by checking the voltage using a multimeter across the red and black wires of the input harness.... this is with a main battery pack attatched that is... the BEC voltage will varry with ESC... most novak stuff should put out 6V... some other brands only put out 5V however....

If the BEC output is the same as the voltage in the battery something is amiss!

Speaking of DVD's... I feel lame that I wasn't able to go out yesterday and get my copy of the Collector's Edition Return of the King DVD...

I'm gonna have to pick up tonight... what kind of fan am I ?
