Default What's Up Steve?

I have a question for you pertaining to an XXL receiver. I know it is stated that the receiver has reverse voltage protection. Does that pertain to the wiring coming from the ESC, the wiring going to the servo or both? Thanks alot!

I got to meet Herb in 1995. He was working the soundboard for...I want to say it was the Misfits. I was with my older brother and his friends and they pointed him out, daring each other go to up to talk to him. Finally I just said I would go do it and talked to him for a couple of minutes. He was really cool, and it was easy to do because the soundboard was in the middle of the room.

2Bad- Any of the Positive and Negative terminals are protected from damaging the Receiver through any reverse voltage put in. But if you conected a RX Battery backwards, and had the servo's plugged in, they would not be protected. You can only protect the RX in these type of situations.

Thanks

Hey Steve, how's it going? I need a little info regarding power capacitors. I have a Cyclone '99 with a 4700uF cap and recently noticed it was bulged out on the bottom. I ran it 2-3 times with a stock motor before I noticed it. Could that damage the speedo? I have since replaced it with a new one and have 2 more (Novak packaged) ordered. If the external capacitor is replaced every year or so will the internal capacitor last indefinitely? Thanks!

Gary--That picture is from last year

2Bad- Yes, I would recommend replacing that external capacitor ASAP. The internal capacitors are not put through the kind of stresses that the external ones are, so their longevity is much higher than those of the external power capacitors. I would replace the external one any time it gets dented or scraped roughly... or once every 6 months or so just to be safe...

What's up Steve. I am thinking about getting the GTX. Can you tell me how is it better than the GT7 other than size?

One of my favorite feature of the GT7 is that the capacitors and schottky diode are already built in. How about the GTX? will I need to put in another capacitor and schottky diode?

Thanks.
