Steve,

I was running a new 13.5 SS in a touring car on an outdoor tarmac track with rubber tyres and good traction. Geared at 4.5 fdr. LRp TC Spec Speedie.

Did 4 heats and 3 finals through the day and checked the temp about 3 or 4 times at about 120 to 130 degrees F. Not a worry I thought.

In the last race of the day about 3 minutes in teh car just stopped. The smell was terrible and it looks like the wiring has burnt out or the insulation melted or something like that in the motor. Car is fine no binding or lock up or anything like that.

What's the story there - any idea?

Steve - If I take advantage of Novak's GTB replacement program to swap out my GTB (1710-2) without Lipo for a GTB w/lipo (1710-L), which is or isn't refurbished depending on how much I want to spend, will the refurbished ones look like they have been hanging out of someones car while being dragged around the track and or have a melted case? I can only assume that you install fresh wires and cases.

Also, would the #5473 5-Amp BEC with Li-Po Monitor work in a nitro vehicle running a lipo receiver pack work as a regulator and a cutoff device? I'd like to run a lipo pack for the weight savings and longevity, but I don't want to put 7.4v into my servos.

Thanks. Get your arse on RB6V2!

Refurbished items don't usaully offer the newest edition goodies but if it were not listed as refurbished, you probably wouldn't know the differance between that and a new one. I've exchanged around 5 ESCs and 2 BL motors over the last 20 years and never received a ugly ESC from Novak.

If you are referring to my problem Ashley - it was a sintered rotor - happened on 19t day.

I don't know why you are mad for me stating that Steve works for Novak. Reread your post, it is stating very clearly an LRP speedie. SS13.5 is Novak but not your ESC which is what I was pointing out. If that is Novak then I'm lost!

I was asking about a problem with a novak motor and giving him all teh info he might need in making an assesment, including what type of speedie I was running at the time - it might be relevant. Can't see where I asked for your help.
