Need advice on lathe

I am lookin to buy a lathe. Can I get one that will work on both stock and mod motors?

Also, can I run one off of a 7.2v 1800 Ni-CD stick pack?

What one would you guys recommend?

Thanx, I appreciate the help.

And I dont mind spending the cash on getting a good one.

When it says for mod motors only, does that mean only 10 turn mod motors, or will it work on my 27 and 19 turn motors?

Thanx.

A mod lathe will cut any arm out of a can. They make a stock can holder that cuts a non rebuildable stock motor.

as far as batteries..........a decent 4 cell pack will run the lathe at the right speed. Any more cells and it tends to turn the motor toooo fast.

Get some old motors and start practicing.

i ahve an xipp and im very happy with it...dont really know how much the hudy is and they also make a great product...just get a diamond bit...makes all the difference...and if you have a comp. electronics charger or an lrp pulsar comp, i kow they can power any lathe.
