Yes, this thread is the "bomb" Tracy. Car looks cool, how did the wiper resister survive the test run? What turn motor is that in there?
The NES 1A's look great in there.

How are you RoyU, I still have the 12i mono front end you sent me awhile back, I now have a proper chassis to mount it on, my "old" dream rc car will soon be complete. Thanks again. Hope all is well with you.

Here's some pics from a european championship a few years ago (with thanks to Mike Haswell who took them):

Here's a SP12 with a Toj b'shell:

and with b'shell removed:

Anyone know who's car this is?:

And in case you did n't know, here he is:

I love racing 12th scale cars, and I also love looking at the pics of the older cars, so keep 'em coming!

Should be David Spashett from the colour design but who is this very young driver?

What age was David at this picture?

Never heard from this brand before. Did they have other cars also beside this one and when was this released?

Steve,

I think it made it about 2 corners. Then just full throttle. But it was hooking up enough to make a some laps. So either I put a little less motor in, or I try the larger single barrell "wet" resistor with the parma heat sink...That is how I ran them in the past. The motor in there now is a 13/2...?
(If anyone has any resistors....I am looking. .8 ohm single barrel "wet", like the one that came stock with the RC10. )

Here is my "Open Vintage" model. Should be ready soon, fresh rubber, gear diff, "Ti" T-bar, D+D graphite chassis and all. Steve, if you notice this chassis had the provision for the AE front suspension. I am using a box futaba radio with it. If anyone remembers how the dual rate was added to the old radio's or remember what ohm figure was used on the "pot", please let me know. The upgrade was available from delta to modify a stock radio. It installed into the charging plug location usually. I am looking for 4 cell's with this one, If anyone know a good place to order single cells, that would be great too.

I'm doing in fine. Got a new job so I can't race on Sundays. Sold the 12r5 but still got my 12LC and a AE TOJ body.

This car was very cool too, I still have the resistor mount from it, very hard to find, as with the deltas of the time. People threw away the mounts from both cars when the newer ESC's came along. With the upright position of the throttle servo it allowed a slightly narrower chassis over the delta's. It seemed so compact, even the rear pod was a bit smaller, stamped alum. versus machined. The parma panther is near the top of my list vintage cars to build. Someday...

Once again, COOLEST THREAD EVER. I wish I had pics of all my old rides. Delta Superphaser, Glass 12L, TQ Eagle A car, TQ Eagle B car , Agitator, Revolver, Corally SP12G, SP12G2, OG CRC/Speedmerchant Carpetknife, etc. Nostalgia kicks ass.

Here's my contribution for the thread. Not super old but old enough I guess. DA balsa core chassis, HPI lower pod plate with kick up, and the GPM aluminum motor pod.

Go to bed CD!!!

Wow, how I coveted those DA chassis in my 12l days!!!! Lighter and stiffer than AE's graphite, and I Had a blue GPM one-piece pod on my original 'knife. Ahhh, the memories......
