Anybody know someone who services old radios? I always used KO EX-1 TX with either Novak or Tekin AM receivers. I still have them, but they don't work properly anymore and I would love to get them restored.

Difficult to remember, this stuff these days...

Could that have first been done at the Nationals in Orlando, circa 87? Could be wrong, but somehow I thought that was new and a hit for that event.

Quite amazing to see how well the cars ran, and not that far off their race setups, yes slower, but still it was a dustbuster motor.

To this day, each time I have used a dustbuster, that reminds me that fast guys are just fast.

Default For the Florida folks

Been hanging in the garage for some 23 years...The original T shirt proof from the club shirts. Should have been around 1986.

Did not understand business stuff then as well as I do now, which still is lacking. The treasurer told Frank D and I to spend the money, something about being non profit, so we bought all members T shirts and the club was able to purchase an AMB with two sets of Xpdr's.

The plaque hanging on the wall was likely removed from a trophy or something and stuck there at some point. It too has probably been there since before my daughter and now granddaughter were born.

Not seen serious battle since the early 90s. A few local bashing but nothing important. One of my favorite cars of all.

White VDS(?) bodies were done for the Orlando National in 1987. Did not work well there nor anywhere else. Waited too long to buy bodies and, well, that was all I was able to locate. I thought I painted 5, 2 were nearby, I know several were never run at all.

Was always going to get one of those, but a buddy of mine who ran for Associated convinced me to get a 12L instead. We had fun trying to get those cars to run on asphalt, but in hindsight, I should have gone with the Delta.

The 87 Nationals stands out for us, my wife attended but was sick as a dog. The following February our Daughter was born.

You might be right about 88, but it just stands out that they ran that race there too.

No big deal.

Great club name.
Come on now...FEAR I believe was the Orlando club.

This was South Florida Electric Auto Racing, slang name sounds the same as sphere.

Every comment about saving batteries was so true. Running outdoors, sometimes you would take a set of uncut tires to the rim in one run. Crazy, but fun times.

I truly think it's a great name for a club

True, the race began at 7 mins back in the day.

OK, you want retro?

Me, Schumacher XL, Parma wiper speed control, Reedy 05, Armaflex tyres with silicone, 1981.

Can't remember the radio model. Early Futaba 40 meg FM with dual rate modification.

Pity I don't have any of it any more.

Oh well, the Schumacher XL was my first Schumacher car ........ in a long row of Schumacher cars. But actually just regret selling the XL and the C-Car now.

Just found this thread. Love these cars too.

Raced a RM1 for fun a few years back, and it remains some of the best racing enjoyment I have ever had. Everyone respected the limits of the driver and the car

I like to take the old cars out every so often and give them event outing. It's very nice when younger racers come up and show alot of positive interest. The Fantoms chain drive freaks some of them out.

This is the only one I don't run, it's just too nice to put a mark on imo.

Nice to see Terry and Ivan on here

Re old radios - I contacted Robert regarding the same (EXII) and he directed me to KO Japan, sadly they couldn't/were not interested in helping.
