Default Carpet from Snowbirds.....

What happens to the carpet after the snowbirds? Is it just thrown out or is it recycled?

BeatupTC3,

I talked to Mike Boylan (the guy who puts it on every year) and he told me that the carpet is sold to somebody every year.

just wondering, because if it still has like 10% of life in it after the races, and they were to just throw it out, i would want it to put down maybe in someones huge garage just to have some fun on carpet.

if you have ever raced at minn reg in largo florida that is the carpet from the snowbirds 2003..the carpet from 2004 was in fact trashed i believe.

Actually Kat, the carpet from 2003 went to MDI racing. Call Mike Boylan, if you want to buy previos years carpet, I bet he still has some.

damn must be 2002 carpet? lol 2004 was kinda tired it had holes in it . and the paragon smell stays with it for 30 years or something,lol.

I wouldnt doubt that, those cars were having the crap beaten out of them by the bumps, it didnt look like the track was "stretched" to well for the 04' races (from a spectators standing point) Maybe one day i can have my own carpet track.... one day im still to young yet, i have my whole life ahead of me

How would i get ahold of him ? we have a club just starting here and need to get some carpet used beat up is better for the money we have im sure LOL
