AMEN! I would rather run an older car, leaves people scratching their heads on the way home as to how they got beat. It's called hand eye coordination,no $400 chassis kit can give you that......only god can do that!

Amen to that! I run mine in USGT. Now in the hands of a better driver it would find a podium or two!

Most of what is discussed in here would be pre-lipo and brushless. Say 10 years old or so. Sakura zero? That is pretty much a modern-era chassis.

I got a TQ in 17.5 TC today at TQ RC Racing with my Losi Type R touring car. The car ran that fast 17.5 lap of the event, and maybe broke the qualifying record. The car nearly drove itself, I just pinned the throttle, cranked the wheel, and gave it absolute hell, but it never fought back. It was a special run, but I clipped a back marker in the main and finished second. The car nearly had the guts to run down the leader but I ran out of time.

The car shrugged off some bad hits, its an anvil of a car, never tweaked or got weird, just recharge, re-sauce the tires, and roll. The only adjustments I made were on the sway bars to keep the chassis from dragging.

http://www.hasegawa-net.com/other/ku....asp?kubun=035

This store (in Japan) has a lot of amazing old chassis' for sale.

Some NIB and some used.

Not sure if they will sell or ship outside of Japan.

NiCad, nimh, brushed motors, and ball diffs are considered old school

Basically. If the chassis has cut outs for C-cells you are certainly getting into "older" territory. If it existed before BL motors were released, old school applies %100.

Do you guys think that the trend of super-flexible touring cars is starting to reverse? My old touring car has all the flex of a piece of steel and doesn't seem to perform the worse for it.
