I wish I had a carbon chassis set for my TA05. Would love to update it. I'll have to get a sheet of carbon and try cutting one.

....my TRF414 is ready to race though.

Nope blue is better and it's a fined tuned blue beast master lol. Was good enough to get 3rd at Reedy race in 2016 with a ball dif!

After selling both my 414m2's, this thread has turned into my personal torture chamber.

I do have a used SSG chassis with light weight bulk heads and motor mount if you are interested? Might have other parts if you are interested in building one.

You have a point. I haven't ran both chassis with the Team Orion Li-Pos and new set-ups yet. (But; these Team Orion Li-Po 5800mah Light-Weight batteries seems to be a similar weight (by left to right - ride-height) as the 6-Cell)Duratrax 3600mah Ni-MH)
I have to put the 6-cell on the scale.

That's pretty impressive - congrats.

May I ask what class this was?

I'm amazed you could manage this with a ball diff - not from a performance standpoint but more from a longevity one. When I was racing my Cyclone (same diff) in mod (12T + lipos) I had to rebuild the diff at least once during raceday... Curious to hear what motor this is...

Nice old HPI in any case - pro4 with some Cyclone Surikarn accents

Thank you!

Glad that you brought up Surikarn. Many forget that HB/HPI made a Tamiya blue car kit once

This race was the 17.5 open class which was perfect for shaft drive and ball diff. I think 17.5 is the limit for this drive train. Hard to see but this had my alloy Pro4 outdrives that used the Cyclone 2.5mm diff screw. This gave it really smooth consistent action but without fear of snapping the screw like the stock Pro4 screw.

It was definitely LRP. A good friend of mine was working at LRP and developed it.

LRP definitely put out fine product I'm still using my SPiN SUPER BRUSLESS. I have no facts to base this on but I bet you're correct Bar.
