Randy is exactly right.. I don't know why this matters to anyone anyway, you're not his sponsors and it was his decision. I say congratulation and best wishes to him on his new endevor.

Should not be a big issue at all. Tamiya does not run a car in that class and he wants to compete so he chose a car. Back in the day Offroad AE drivers ran the Yokomo 4wd. Losi drivers run losi sedans and many then run Trinity 12th...really a non story other then Corally has a great 12th team forming. Go Toso!

haha guys i dont think you understand, we're just joking. i initially thought it was , hes stopped using tamiya /peak altogether and joined corally so was a shocked. It makes perfect sence if its just a 1/12 , infact a good thing!
no1s against it from what ive read

I agree. if he dumped a good thing altogether, then I would have been evac-ed to the nearest hospital! Tamyia and Surikarn were a great team. I see no problems trying to race a different scale.....even different types of classes, like off-road and trucks. some peoples need to remove their burrs out their butts....

Surikarn still use Tamiya 1/10 touring car but for 1/12 scale he will use Corally.

Man, I can't believe there was a perceived backlash about this! haha

As others said, Tamiya doesn't produce a 1/12th-scale car so Surikarn will run for Corally in that class. It's no different than somebody like Josh Cyrul running an XRAY TC and a Kyosho Nitro TC.

Doesn't he also race for Mugen in 1/8th and 1/10 th scale nitro-on road? Since Tamiya only does 1/10th TC, why wouldn't he be allowed to run other classes?

I don't know who is backlashing, I just though it would have been a shock to see that happen, with Surikarn diong so good with Tamyia. I don't see nothing wrong with trying other forms of r/c......

The trend goes like this: First you are a factory sponsored driver, then after showing your talent, you would then bargain for regional distributorship for that brand... sounds familiar? I think (might be wrong) Ralph B has set such trends. I`m pretty sure others will follow soon.

I think I agree with Randy.

Corally's new touring car is so good that if Surikarn was running that too, he would probably be in with a winning chance in the touring car class with that too.

No doubt many Corally haters will disagree.

I am happy to see Surikarn using a Corally 1/12th car, no doubt its a good car! And of course still powered by Peak batteries and Peak V2 motors he will have a great chance winning the World Championship. Sorry, it was shot for open goal, had to take it

Its a bit of topic, but I am currently at the Japanese Nationals 1/12th, and the battle is here Masami against Hara like normal. They are both extreme fast, and at the moment it is Masami in the lead after the first day of qualifying. The race is held in Yatabe Arena, which is Yokomo test track. No further surprises here except 90% of the drivers use Sanyo 3600.
