So far, there isn't a factory gear diff, unless I've missed something in the last 8 or so hours. You'll have to go aftermarket. Lots of resources in the official TC6 thread, including mods to make 'em work.

Is there something about the TC6 ,that makes people want to put a gear diff in it?

Curious.

Gears diffs are the latest fad. A well built ball diff is just as good but the gear diff will require less maintenance over all.

I never touched the ball diff in my tc5 for the entire last season and it's still just fine. And that's still too much maintenance for some people?

The gear diff is superior in acceleration since there is no slip. It also offers more steering than a spool without the violence associated with getting on and off the throttle. You can also correct the car more easily coming off the corner.

The gear diff is more a tuning item than a way to avoid maintenance, since you have to keep up with them as well.

These are just my feelings, and I usually only race motors up to 17.5 boost, so your mileage may vary.
