Default I cooked it real good

I cooked one of my P2K2s last weekend. I was warming up before the qualifyer when I chunked a tire. I replaced all 4 with the set I had just trued. Being rushed to start I forgot to change the pinion, tiresize went from about 55mm to 58mm. My car did a great James Bond impression laying down a smoke screen half way through the qualy. Sad thing is, I was about to make a pass on the leader. I ordered a new armature, should I send the can in for rezapping too? I am thinking the heat may have affected the magnets.

I picked up a Paradigm Assassin motor that was "Tuned" for best power. However when I put the motor in my car it was a POOCH! I had to tweak the motor to make better efficiency and power on the track. Whats up with that?

Red Z,

What brushes do you have available to you? If you have some Black Magics (2158), run those with red/green springs. The one I have setup like that is ballistic.

Are you sure you had the motor geared right? They are very finicky with gearing.

I haven't tried those Black Magic brushes. I think this one had 767's and Purple/Purple. I went to Purple/green. That made the motor a bit better. I had several experienced oval racers help me with my ratio so I was very near the "sweet spot". Should I make the pos spring lighter and switch to those brushes?

I can't get those brushes from my LHS. They won't carry any Paradigm stuff. Where can I buy some or get them online?

Dan, one thing you have to remember is your running on a different size track than what most people run at. A tunner sets up motors for the majority of situations. That might not necessarily be your situation. Just like every chassis needs changes for different tracks so does the motors. What worked well for me at Oshkosh needed a little work to make HP at Road Rage. And none of it is working well for me at Trackside. Ive been way off in left field from what was working before. Change brings knowledge and in racing knowledge is king.

Default Hey everyone...

Here's a little stock motor update:

Monsters are on their way and should be ready to go late next week.

P2K2s should be coming in right behind them, I would say 2 weeks until those are ready..

EPIC ROARs are currently on backorder with Trinity, I'll have a better idea on when those are coming in later this week.

Of course, backorders will be filled before they are marked "in-stock" on our website.

The dates are estimates and hence subject to change, we'll keep you posted

If you have any questions feel free to E-mail us or give us a call.

Bisquit,

Yep, leaving here in about 25 minutes for CRCRC. Just got unpacked from the Novak race, and off I go again. Joy.

See you there! Anyone else going, stop by and say hi too!
