Presumably the shocks are oriented that way to accomodate IFS bodies. An option to mount them in the traditional orientation is bound to happen, if not from Tamiya, then the aftermarket, which goes insane for this series of cars.

It doesn't look like it would be hard to convert at all. Pretty much the same as ta05.

Looks like a rear ff03 gearbox with two belts for the front.

Still like the current TA05 design, dual belt. Simple and proven.

If tamiya make it , poeple will buy it & i'm sure the will sell a few thousand world wide

I can think of a great class to run it in ( 540 / 21.5 ) & i wouldn't mind trying to show up people running top end chassis in this class.

Its to fit low-nose bodies. If it doesn't have TRF in the model name, then Tamiya don't consider it to be a racing chassis of the same caliber as the TRF417 (for example, Tamiya's full carbon TA05 was the TA05MS, not TRF05). Sure, you can race it at club level fine, but they won't be using it at the Worlds, so its aimed at club racers who would rather do TCS (with TCS-limited bodies).

Yes you would be able to race it at any TCS race. What he meant was that Tamiya considers it a club racing chassis not a high end car. As far as TCS goes...this is meant to be a GT-2 and GT-1 car as was the TA05 and the like.

The TA/TB~ range is considered middle/intermediate class. TL/TT-01 entry level, and the TRF series is expert/high end class.
