Default lipo question

I had a lipo that would not balance and I was told to charge it on nicd to bring up the voltage. Well I did that and I fell asleep and woke up to it beeping. It was swollen so I took it outside and that is where its sitting now. its been maybe 10 minutes. What should I do and is this battery toast?

I would chaulk it up as a loss. Fill up a coffee can with water, dump about a cup of salt in it and throw the battery in there. Let it sit for about 2 days and throw it away.

I wouldn't use it again. Sounds like it was bad even before you charged it anyway.

Discharge the battery with a resistor, or a light bulb outside before throwing it in the bucket of salt water. You want the voltage as low as possible.

The salt water helps to neutralize the lithium reaction and no the battery is TOAST.
