Default Something decent for street speed runs.

I'm looking for a tourer and want to do speed runs up and down my street..
It does have small rocks but they aren't very common..

I plan on running brushless, probably hobbywing with a 3s lipo.
I am a student, so not on unlimited money.
I would prefer belt but I seem to read that shaft is much better suited.
My current choices would be..

1/12th pan cars
RJ Speed 3.2 sport 1/10 pan car
Duratrax vendetta TC
Hot bodies cyclone
HPI E-10
HPI Sprint 2
TT01
TA05
HSP
Tamiya 417 clone
Xray T2 08' clone
Xray M18 clone

Any ideas?
Please no "clone hating" comments..

I have a JL10E with a Hobbywing 60A + 5.5T and it goes pretty good. The car is about $129, and the ESC about $85. On 2S it has good speed, on 3S you will need a good sized open parking lot. With the current setup on 3S - the car has done backflips a couple of times due to when the front end lifts.

Tamiya kits are usually pretty solid. For high speed, belt drive is more suitable. The TA05 should be suitable for you, the kit also includes bearings, which will help a whole lot with high speed runs. The cyclone is also a great candidate, in my area, it's very popular to race at club events, although I have never done any speed runs to give you a better review. Do not worry about the small rocks. They have not been a problem for any of my belt driven cars, and I run on my street where construction is still taking place for new homes.

i went with a 416we clone off ebay for 140$.. it is taking a month to get here from chinaland so i cant tell you how i feel about that choice yet. but i was looking at the same kits as you. best advice: get a kit which has parts support at your LHS. Personally i would be sure to opt for a belt drive so the motor is mounted perpendicular not parallel.
